OMG Elizabeth Holmes Is Reportedly Getting Moved to a Halfway House Next Year

White collar criminality sure seems to have some perks.

Elizabeth Holmes, who by next month will be back in the news in a big way thanks to Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim's reportedly stellar new documentary, is reportedly going to be moved next year out of the more prison-like correctional facility she's currently in and into a halfway house outside of Austin, where her children and baby daddy Billy Evans reside.

As ABC News is reporting, Holmes has been approved for placement in a community correction center, aka a halfway house — which the news organization gleaned from the Department of Justice's Victim Notification System.

Holmes is scheduled to be placed at the Austin Transitional Center in Del Valle, Texas on August 23, 2027. That is a full six years shy of her original sentence, and two and a half years before her currently scheduled release date on February 22, 2030.

Holmes has done her level best throughout the legal process to appeal her conviction and to avoid punishment — including, cynics will say, getting pregnant a first and then a second time, the latter right as she was to begin serving her sentence. She was also, at one point, allegedly, in possession of a one-way ticket to Mexico immediately after her January 2022 conviction — and Evans apparently left the country for six weeks right around that time.

Now, many will likely say, including those whom she financially wronged, that she is basically getting out of jail free barely four years after she finally began serving her time.

The Fielder/Oppenheim documentary, titled You Can See Everything, just played to a small audience in a special screening at the Telluride Film Festival, and the early word from critics is that it's a genre-bending piece of nonfiction like no one but Fielder could deliver, and that it raises wild questions about Holmes's own relationship to facts and the fact-based world.

Evans, meanwhile, has apparently been using Holmes's old Xitter account to respond to critics and — as we saw earlier this year — appeal to the sympathies of Donald Trump himself. And, more wildly, we learned in May 2025 that he has launched a new company which is — wait for it.... — a blood-testing startup! Focused on veterinary care! Or something.

As part of her sentence, Holmes is legally barred from starting any new tech or medical device companies, but she'll probably find a way around that!
