A fan event and Q&A at Amoeba Music in the Upper Haight that had caused much consternation among Charli's Angels or the Brat Pack or whatever her fans are called because of its timing. But the new time comes with its own conflict.
On Thursday, Amoeba announced that the Charli xcx fan event is being rescheduled for Saturday at 6 pm, due to "unforeseen scheduling conflicts" with the original Friday time. Wristbands for the event have already been issued, and those will be valid for the rescheduled event, the store says.
This presents scheduling trouble all its own, however, for anyone who's a Charli xcx fan who bought a three-day pass for Outside Lands, because with no ins and outs at the festival, going to the Amoeba event would mean missing most if not all of the festival on Saturday now.
The original fan event was scheduled for 3 pm on Friday, about five hours before Charli is scheduled to take the main stage at the festival, which was already upsetting for fans who wanted to go to the festival and stake out space near the stage.
Now, as KRON4 reports, the rescheduling has some fans clamoring to sell their wristband for the Amoeba event. And because the price of wristband was simply the price of the pre-order of Charli xcx's new album, and it was limit one per person, the store is warning fans not to get scammed by online wristband or "ticket" offers. Gaining entry means having the pre-order voucher and a receipt, as well as the wristband.
"Dear fans, for the love of Charli, do not buy from anyone unless they can provide you with ALL the physical stuff you need to gain entry: Wristband, Amoeba SF register receipt, and voucher,” Amoeba says in an Instagram comment. "There are no 'tickets,' nothing is digital, we cannot accept a photo, and it was limit 1 per person, so anyone with more than 1 to sell seems sus."
Still, there are many comments to the effect of "I will literally buy anyone's lol."
As some fans may recall, Charli xcx's appearance at the Portola Festival in SF in 2022 caused a brief but potentially dangerous stampede because of some poor crowd management at that festival's first outing.
This year, she headlines the main stage at OSL on Friday, much like she headlined Lollapalooza last weekend in Chicago.
