An armed robber raided the pharmacy of an Outer Richmond drug store Monday morning, the second such crime to strike the area in recent weeks.

According to the San Francisco Police Department, the crime happened at a drug store on the first block of Point Lobos Avenue at 9:50 a.m. Monday.

There's a Walgreens located at 25 Point Lobos, the only such business in the area. Per policy, the SFPD declined to name the business at which the incident occurred.

Police say that a man in his 20s entered the store, and approached a 27-year-old male employee. The suspect "produced a handgun" then "went around to the other side of the counter and demanded medication."

The store employee opened the cabinet that contained the medication the suspect sought. The suspect then loaded the stolen drugs into his backpack and fled on foot in an unknown direction. As of Tuesday morning, no arrests have been made in this case.

This crime is strikingly similar to one that took place at 11:01 a.m. on Monday, February 13. In that case, an armed man robbed the CVS located at 377 32nd Avenue, a little more than ten blocks from the scene of yesterday's crime. As with Monday's crime, the suspect in the earlier February robbery remains at large.
