Flyers promoting the Ku Klux Klan and criticizing the Black Lives Matter movement were placed on doorsteps around the Haight yesterday, reports Hoodline. It is unclear as to who is responsible for distributing the flyers, but so far they have been reported at at least two separate locations.

We first learned yesterday, via Broke Ass Stuart, of a woman posting to social networking site Nextdoor about the discovery. It now appears that she was not alone.

"Black Lives Matter Black Panthers are telling followers to kill white people and police officers in the name of justice for the killing of negro’s by policemen in the line of duty,” reads the flyer in an obvious attempt to falsely associate the shooting death of five Dallas police officers with the Black Lives Matter movement. “These negro’s were not innocent, they were thugs breaking the law, and standing up against police.”

It goes on to list the website and phone number for “The Loyal White Knights of the KKK” — a number which the Chronicle called in an attempt to determine responsibility for the recruitment flyer's distribution. "White racial greetings and thank you for calling the Loyal White Knights of the Ku Klux Klan,” intones a voicemail at the number before proceeding to quote the bible.

According to the Chron, the police are aware of the flyers, but are not currently investigating. “If someone decides that they want to recruit for the KKK, they have a right to do that," explained Park Station Captain John Sanford at a community meeting last night. "That is not considered illegal activity.”

Not illegal, no, but disturbing nevertheless.
