Just last year, the cast and crew for an Aaron Sorkin-penned Steve Jobs biopic was in chaos. Director David Fincher had bailed on the project, as had possible star Leonardo DiCaprio. Though eventual director Danny Boyle sought Christian Bale for Jobs, the gig ended up going to German/Irish actor Michael Fassbender.
Fassbender, along with Seth Rogen as Steve Wozniak was spotted numerous times in the Bay Area as the film shot here earlier this year. Some of you who ended up being extras in the movie might have even seen them in action! Now you can get a peek at the fruits of their labors, as the first trailer for Steve Jobs dropped Sunday night.
They don't give you much, to be sure. Steve Jobs was maybe a dick? Lots of people yelled at him? He yelled at other people? There is clapping? The biggest revelation, perhaps, is seeing Fassbender in character (as opposed to in grainy Instagram shots) as the Apple co-founder.
The film is "set backstage at three iconic product launches and ends in 1998 with the unveiling of the iMac," (per its official logline), so don't get all excited expecting to see the Lisa. It's currently scheduled for release on October 9, 2015.
