In honor of the social media mammoth's 8th anniversary, Twitter released #FirstTweet, a nifty tool that allows you to instantly read someone's first tweet.
Millions of prolific tweeters have made Twitter an exciting, fun and powerful place to connect with others. But each of you had to start somewhere: Today we’re taking a look at some choice first Tweets — first Tweets that sparked a conversation, used imagery to tell a story, or revealed unfiltered self expression.
My very first tweet, back in 2008, was to let you know that my neighbors were arguing. (You're welcome.) Here now are a few famous local first tweets from the SFist staff, Gavin Newsom, Tyler Florence, Beth Spotswood, Sergey Brin, Karl the Fog, Carol Channing (why not), and more.
