Matt Cain Matches $50,000 Raised By Make-A-Wish

After Batkid proved an astounding success — by not only allowing San Franciscans to temporarily forget their woes, but also by reaching a $50,000 fundraising goal — lanky Giants pitcher Matt Cain and his wife, Chelsea, matched the donation.

Their generosity also coincided with a charity event where cops flung themselves into frigid Bay waters. SF Appeal has more: "Cain’s matching donation is part of the organization’s annual Brave the Bay fundraising drive, centered around an event at Aquatic Park in which police officers jump into the frigid waters of the Bay. The event took place last weekend, and [Make-A-Wish spokeswoman Jen Wilson] joined San Francisco police Chief Greg Suhr and other officers in braving the chilly waters."
