Sometime around 2 a.m. Wednesday morning a young drummer in town from New York was sucker-stabbed by a crazy dude wielding a large switchblade at 16th and Mission. The guy was just walking down the street and raving at passersby, as many do in that vicinity at that hour, and the victim thought the guy had just punched him in the shoulder before he saw his shirt was ripped and he was bleeding.
The knife-wielding crazy proceeded to go yelling at some people in the BART station plaza, swinging his knife around until someone threw a garbage can at him and got him pinned to the ground. Then the cops came.
Then around 8 a.m. Wednesday, a man was robbed of his cell phone and wallet at knife-point down the street at 16th and Rhode Island. The suspect, described as a man in his 30s, struck the victim in the back with the butt end of the knife and fled.
At around 11 p.m. last night, a woman was robbed at gunpoint at 24th and Chattanooga Streets by two suspects. The two suspects were a man and a woman in their late 20s who pulled up in a white van, flashed a gun, demanded her property, and fled with it.
