The LA Times reports this evening that Giovanni Ramirez, the chief suspect in the assault on Bryan Stow outside of Dodger Stadium on opening day, will be cleared of the charges. The LAPD's case against Ramirez was largely based on eyewitness reports and prosecutors previously delayed filing charges while the department's Robbery-Homocide Division looked for more prosecutable evidence.
According to LA Times' source inside the investigation, LAPD have now arrested two additional suspects. Assuming the DA brings a case against the two men, Ramirez will be exonerated. No word yet on the how the LAPD tracked down the new suspects whose names are currently being withheld as the investigation is ongoing.
Bryan Stow remains in serious condition at San Francisco General Hospital.
