As part of SF's Free Night(s) Of Theater (details are still being finalized), on Monday, October 30, Black Box Theatre is performing , a new adaptation of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, before a live studio audience and for podcast release the next day, Halloween. This will be the first time a theater production in the Bay Area has been recorded expressly for a podcasting audience. Cool!
The title role is being played by James Carpenter, who will be playing Scrooge in this year's production of A Christmas Carol by ACT. The studio performance begins at 8, at the Magic Theater in Ft. Mason in Building D. Admission is free, but call (415) 731-4922 to reserve your seat. And say hi to SFist Karen; she'll be working the box office!
The podcast of the performance will be available here at the spooky hour of 5 p.m. on Halloween for downloading. (We're proud to say that SFist's art director, SFist Chesh, will be making the web magic happen on this!) If you can't wait that long, tide yourself over for now with a podcast with Black Box Theatre founder and the Creature's adaptor, Trevor Allen, talking about the project.
