Two adults and one child have been transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after the small propeller plane they were on crashed on a roadway near San Jose's Reid Hillview Airport. The cause of the crash remains unclear.

As ABC7 reports, San Jose Fire Department officials responded to the scene on Saturday just after 3 pm after receiving a report of a plane crash in the area of Capitol Expressway and Excalibur Drive. They later confirmed that no one on the ground was hurt and that no vehicles were damaged in the crash.

The crash did cause a minor fuel spill but authorities confirmed it was subsequently absorbed.

According to San Jose Fire Department officials, the plane in question is a 1968 Cessna 177A Cardinal.

ABC7 additionally notes that the craft is registered to Flying Twenty Inc – a nonprofit flight club for San Jose State University students, alumni and faculty — per Federal Aviation Administration records.
