A man was reportedly stabbed and suffered life-threatening injuries Wednesday afternoon onboard a 14-Mission bus in the vicinity of 10th and Mission streets, and a suspect has been arrested.
The incident happened around 1:41 pm Wednesday, as the Chronicle reports via the San Francisco Police Department. The victim was reportedly transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, and a suspect was quickly apprehended after a preliminary investigation.
The SFPD did not specify which bus the stabbing occurred on, but the Instagram account @tenderloinactivities had video from the scene, apparently shot by the infamous JJ Smith, showing the 14 Mission bus and the emergency response — with the victim appearing conscious and upright, being treated for what appears to be a neck wound. The video also seems to show the arrest being made nearby.
The SFMTA also issued an alert about 18 minutes after the incident, advising riders that the 14 and 14R buses would be re-routing to Market Street between 10th and 11th streets due to police activity on Mission Street.
We don't yet have any details about what led up to the stabbing, or about the suspect or the victim's current condition.
