Tuesday Morning Topline: Morgan Hill Party Shooting Suspect Could Be Tried as Adult

Santa Clara County prosecutors announced Monday that they are filing a motion to transfer the case against the 17-year-old Salinas boy charged with the July 25 murder of Desiderio “Desi” Romero V to adult court. The boy was arrested last week in connection with the mass shooting at a pop-up-style party in a Morgan Hill field to celebrate the birthday of a Twitch streamer. [KRON4]
We're now learning, for the first time, that each Supreme Court justice has chosen to keep their court papers and files hidden from the public until everyone involved with deciding a case has died. The practice began after Justice Antonin Scalia died without leaving instructions about his papers, and the Times reports that there doesn't even seem to be policy for preserving internal emails, or if there is they won't say.
