• The SF County Transportation Authority is once again throwing around ideas to put an underground subway under Geary Boulevard and 19th Avenue, though the idea seems pretty pie-in-the-sky. This is at least the third time in the last 20 years that the idea of a Geary Subway has been bandied about, but if you’re down, you can fill out a survey on the topic anytime before November 1.   • There’s going to be another light show on the Transamerica Pyramid starting at 8:30 pm Tuesday night on the east-facing side of the building. Organizers are calling it an “immersive AI-powered light show entitled ‘Pyramid of Light & Sound,’” and it’s a kick-off celebration for this week’s TED AI San Francisco conference (which sorry, is sold out).   • The receivers of the the former Westfield Centre has decided to scrap the new name “Emporium Centre SF” and are rebranding to just stick with the name “San Francisco Centre.” The court-appointed receiver Trident Pacific did some market research and said they “will focus on revitalizing the Centre through new initiatives and evolving brand strategies.” [SF Business Times]

  • The popular Burning Man geometric sculpture crew HYBOCOZO is installing a new public art sculpture at the Old Mint Plaza, and it will be 12 feet tall and weigh 2,000 pounds. [Chronicle]
  • Just days after Donald Trump did a photo-op pretending to work at a McDonald’s, an E. coli outbreak in McDonald’s Quarter Pounders has killed one person and sickened another 49. Coincidence? [NBC News]
