Alice Waters and her daughter Fanny Singer have been doing some spring cleaning, apparently, and they're having a "mother-daughter flea market" in the Chez Panisse parking lot this weekend.
Who knows what you might find!? Vintage peasant blouses, funny hats, copper egg spoons, signed cookbooks, worn red-and-white checkered tablecloths (from when Chez Panisse was more of a checkered-tablecloth kind of place)? Chronicle critic voodoo dolls?
According to a post from Singer, the "flea market" will feature "vintage & designer clothes," and "decades' worth" of antiques, crafts, books, and more. And given the cult of personality around Waters, you can bet fans will be out early trying to snatch up the good stuff.
Is Alice selling her modest Berkeley bungalow? Did the mother-daughter duo just get hit with the Marie Kondo craze? You can try to ask Fanny on Insta, but she doesn't seem like she responds too frequently.
The event is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sunday, at 1517 Shattuck Avenue in Berkeley
