A man walking in the Inner Richmond was robbed at gunpoint this morning, an unusual crime for what's usually a quiet block in the residential neighborhood.
According to the San Francisco Police Department, the 22-year-old victim was walking near 8th Avenue and Anza Street at 5 a.m. Friday when the shakedown occurred.
Police say that a man believed to be in his 20s approached the victim "from behind and pointed a gun."
The suspect demanded the pedestrian's property and the victim complied, police say, handing over his backpack, wallet, cellphone, headphones, and cash.
The robber then fled northbound on Ninth, police say. As of publication time,no arrests have been made, and the gun-wielding mugger remains at large.
