A man taking an afternoon stroll along the Embarcadero had his walk turn ugly Wednesday, when a trio of thieves threatened and robbed him.

The robbery occurred at 5 p.m., police say, at the intersection of North Point Street and The Embarcadero, just steps from Fisherman's Wharf.

According to the San Francisco Police Department, a 44-year-old male pedestrian was suddenly approached by three men in their 20s. The trio surrounded the victim, and one pressed an object — possibly a gun — into the man's back as the other two went through his pockets.

After the three miscreants grabbed the man's property and cash, they hopped into a nearby vehicle and fled in an unknown direction.

As of Thursday morning, the SFPD says that the muggers remain at large, and no arrests have been made in the case.
