Brompton Bicycle, the UK-based designer and manufacturer of the iconic folding bike, together with Huckleberry Bicycles, their premier dealer in downtown San Francisco, are bringing a two-wheeled, app-based scavenger hunt to the streets of San Francisco this Easter Sunday. The aim, to have fun and support the work of the San Francisco Bike Coalition, all proceeds will go to benefit SFBC.

“Urban cycling has rapidly become a mainstream activity in U.S. cities. For Brompton, we’ve always been about celebrating cycling every day, and the Urban Bike Challenge is a great way for both experienced cyclists and those new to urban cycling to have fun and explore San Francisco,” said Katharine Horsman, General Manager, North America at Brompton Bicycle. ”So, whether you’re an everyday commuter or a weekend recreational rider in Golden Gate Park we encourage you to sign up for a great day of riding in the city.

Teams are invited to solve clues, complete tasks and take pictures at various locations around the city, racking up points by using their creativity and city smarts. The team with the most points will win the glory of being the Urban Bike Challenge Champions, as well as a much coveted Ortlieb waterproof bag each. The team judged the most creative of the day will win a set of Tracer helmets from Nutcase.

“Cycling in the city can have the reputation of not being a lot of fun,” said Zack Stender, owner of Huckleberry Bicycles. “But this challenge shows off the fun factor of urban cycling, allowing people to check out areas of the city often inaccessible to other forms of transport while enjoying a day out riding with friends.”

The day will start at 11am with coffee and donuts at Huckleberry Bicycles on Market Street, with prizes and celebrations to follow post hunt. All bikes are welcome but if you need a bike, a limited number of Brompton folding bikes will be available to borrow at no extra charge, just select the option in the registration page. Teams consist of two to four players; sign up as a team or as an individual and meet new friends on the day!
