A Great Horned Owl having a very bad day was rescued by Animal Control Officers in Solano County according to the Solano County Sheriff's Office and is going to be just fine. Officers Walls and Kim found the large predatory bird in Vallejo, its wing caught on a piece of fishing line that had been left tangled between two trees. But Officer Kim "was able to work his magic to free the injured owl and take him to our friends at the Suisun Wildlife Center," representatives for the Sheriff's Office wrote in a Facebook post.
"A big thank you to ACO Kim and ACO Walls for helping this Great Horned Owl and bringing him to us," representatives from Suisun Wildlife Center wrote in response. "He is one lucky guy! No fractures, just lots of tissue damage and swelling. He will be in our care for a while, but his prognosis is good."
The Suisun Wildlife Center began operating in 1977 to offer animal rescue and assistance to injured and orphaned wildlife in Solano County as "affected primarily by human Activity."
