A man walking in the Tenderloin was rushed to the hospital Monday, when a duo of muggers repeatedly struck him with a skateboard.
Police say that the attack occurred at 1:45 a.m. Monday, on the 500 block of Ellis Street, when is between Leavenworth and Hyde Streets, near the Tenderloin Children's Playground.
According to the San Francisco Police Department, the 48-year-old male victim was approached by two men in their late 20s. The duo "struck him with a skateboard several times," then took his cell phone and an undisclosed amount of cash.
The man was left with injuries to his face, head, and jaw, and was transported to San Francisco General Hospital. An update on his condition was not available as of publication time.
Police say that his attackers fled in an "unknown direction" and haven't been seen since. As of Tuesday morning, no arrests have been made in this case.
