A group of three teenaged muggers stole the purse of a woman visiting San Francsico Wednesday evening, in a snatch and grab in a popular tourist area.

According to the San Francsico Police Department, the 48-year-old female victim was walking along San Francisco's Embarcadero, near Broadway, at 7:28 p.m. Wednesday.

Suddenly, a group three of males aged 15-18 approached her from behind, police say, and "ripped her purse off of her shoulder."

The trio fled on foot, purse in hand. It contained, police say, the woman's passport, credit cards, and an unknown amount of cash.

The victim was shaken but unharmed in the incident. Police say that the suspects have not been seen since, and remain at large as of publication time.
