Dolores Park, circa 1960. All that different from today? @outsidelandz @OpenSFHistory #sfhistory #opensfhistory https://t.co/bSA0nQcTyq pic.twitter.com/AvmYG0bT26

With all the kvetching about the rowdy youth of today partying in Dolores Park, it's nice to remember that the spot has always drawn crowds of scantily clad sunbathers smoking, drinking, and taking in the view. The above photo, taken in 1964 and republished by OpenSFHistory, reminds us of that fact.
Swap out the bike for a fixie, and the photo might as well have been taken today. Pack of cigarettes? Check. Can of beer? Check. What appears to be a radio playing tunes? You know it. Hell, there's even a pack of matches casually tossed to the side proving that — GASP — even your grandparents littered.
With sunshine and temps in the mid-60s predicted for this weekend, we expect many of you will be doing exactly what the above couple was photographed doing 52 years ago. Make your grandparents proud (but do pick up after yourself).
