Funky Door Yoga in the Upper Haight (Waller between Stanyan and Schrader) has closed its namesake funky door for good. Business owner Sarah wrote on her website and Facebook page that "much has changed in the last couple of years," and that Funky Door was headed out. Tipsters to Hoodline were the first to break news of the closure.
The studio's last day of hot, bikram yoga classes was the 24th. Add this one to the list of Things San Franciscans Can Be Nostalgic For.
Concerned that the hot yoga trend might be cooling off? A call to Funky Door's space in Berkeley (2567 Shattuck Avenue) confirms the former sister space there is still going strong. Its ownership, however changed hands some years ago.
