A San Francisco woman awoke Wednesday to a terrifying scene: A mysterious stranger had torn apart her home, and left her with injuries to the face.
The San Francisco Police Department reports that the incident occurred some time around 10 p.m. Wednesday, on the 100 block of Appleton Avenue, which runs between Mission Street and Holly Park.
Police say that the victim, a 32-year-old woman "woke from a deep sleep" and discovered "scratches to her face" that she had no memory of receiving.
When she got up, she "then realized that her home had been ransacked," according to SFPD's report on the case.
According to the victim, nothing had been taken, and she hasn't witnessed any suspects entering or leaving her residence.
No arrests have been made in what SFPD describes as a "hot prowl, "the term police use when a suspect enters a residence when the occupants are inside it. As of Friday morning, the suspect or suspects remain at large.
