Gunshots rang out in Oakland last night, as five people were shot in two separate locations. KRON 4 reports the first shooting left four injured, and the second shooting left a fifth wounded in critical condition.

According to CBS 5, the first incident went down at 10:38 p.m. on the 1100 block of Mandela Parkway in West Oakland. Four unidentified victims were struck by gunfire, and all were taken to the hospital in stable condition.

The second shooting happened hours later at 1:15 a.m. on the 9700 block of Birch Street. The fifth victim, who has been identified as male, suffered a critical brain injury.

At present, no arrests have been made.

The night of violence comes soon after a triple shooting and double murder in the Columbia Gardens neighborhood of Oakland earlier this month. In that case, one of the two individuals believed to be suspects was arrested.

Police ask that you contact the Oakland Police Department's tip line (510-238-7950) or Homicide Section (510-238-3821) if you have any information about either shooting.
