Beyoncé Dancers want #JusticeMarioWoods

Carolina weren't the only panthers in Santa Clara today.

Wearing outfits inspired by the Black Panther Party — leather, berets — some of Beyonce's Super Bowl dancers took a moment to pose with a sign calling for justice in the killing of Mario Woods, a black man who died after police opened fire on him in San Francisco's Bayview neighborhood.

Of course, since, Beyonce's captivating halftime performance alongside Coldplay and Bruno Mars included new song "Formation," whose lyrics and video speak clearly to blackness and the #blacklivesmatter movement, we probably shouldn't be surprised at the gesture.

Woods' death in December has launched a Department of Justice review of the San Francisco Police Department. That could take anywhere from 18 to 24 months to complete, and its findings will need to be agreed upon by local law enforcement.
