The San Francisco Police Department is seeking a suspect in a silver SUV, after a man was fatally gunned down on Wednesday morning in the Bayview.
SFPD officers found 23-year-old German Blanco suffering from gunshot wounds on the 300 block of Paul Avenue, just west of Third Street, at 8:58 a.m. Wednesday morning, according to the SFPD.
Blanco was transported to San Francisco General, and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
According to police, a man in his mid-20s in a silver SUV is sough for questioning in the case. SFPD didn't have any additional details on suspects or a motive in the shooting, and no arrests have been made as of Thursday morning. Blanco's death is San Francisco's 31st homicide for 2015, SFPD spokesperson Officer Albie Esparza confirmed Thursday. For the sake of comparison, we'll note that in 2014 SF's 30th homicide was on October 14, the 31st on on November 1. At the end of 2014, San Francisco had 45 total homicides. As of July 2015, San Francisco's homicide rate was up by 71%.
