Two shootings in San Francisco this weekend have left one man injured, another dead, and no suspects in custody.
According to San Francisco Police Department spokesperson Officer Gordon Shyy, police were called to the 400 block of Broadway Street, which is between Montgomery and Kearney Streets near the Penthouse Club, at 1:45 Saturday morning, on reports of a shooting. When they arrived, they found an adult male who'd been shot multiple times.
The victim was transported to San Francisco General Hospital, and is expected to survive, Shyy says.
Then at 9 a.m. on Saturday, police were called to the 1200 block of Divisadero Street, which is between Eddy and Ellis Streets, on another report of a shooting.
"Officers located a victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso," Shyy says. The man was taken to SF General in critical condition, but succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. He has since been identified as 18-year-old Iry Bivins, the Chron reports.
In both cases, the suspects remain at large, and police are eager to get information from the public. Anyone with information about either crime is asked to contact police at (415) 575-4444 or to text a tip to police at TIP411 or 847411 and start the message with "SFPD" followed by the tip.
