Giants fans kayaking in McCovey Cove have to be on their best behavior now.
On Saturday, the SFPD made what's seemingly the public debut of a $50,000 toy in the waters next to AT&T Park. During the second game of the Bay Bridge Series versus the Oakland A's, an officer of the force's Marine Unit cruised by on a $50,000 "quadski," an amphibious vehicle that can convert from a 4-wheeled ATV into a jetski in a matter of seconds with just the push of a button. The Giants' broadcast certainly took notice.
"I gotta believe he's the luckiest guy on the force, right there, riding that thing," said Giants color commentator Mike Krukow. "I want to be that guy," responded broadcast partner Duane Kuiper.
"It looked like something out of Batman," fan Vince Borteous told ABC 7. "Another guy thought it was something out of James Bond."
"We got the message that we probably needed to behave ourselves," said Ben Mullin.
The vehicle was a gift from Salesforce.com CEO Marc Benioff.
