Outside Lands Musical Festival just announced the icing on their lineup cake. In addition to acts like Sam Smith, Kendrick Lamar, and Wilco, attendees of the three-day Golden Gate Park bacchanal (August 7-9) can now catch Cold War Kids and Amon Tobin's Isam Live in an expanded 2.0 format.
With their first major label album Robbers & Cowards, Cold War Kids rose to cultish acclaim in 2006. The Kids take the stage in Golden Gate Parkon Saturdayin a fitting return for the band: The band appeared at 2008's inaugural Outside Lands Festival, you know, before it was cool.
Amon Tobin: ISAM Live 2.0, now rocking a spot on Friday's lineup, first appeared at Montreal's 2011 Mutek Festival. Over the past few years, the light and sound spectacular has found an audience everywhere from Coachella to the Sydney Opera house. This will mark the incarnation's final appearance: Tobin, the deeply influential Brazilian electronic musician, plans to "burn [ISAM] to the ground" before developing his next act.
So far we haven't heard of any last-minute additions to the festival's absurdist food and drink lineup, but you wouldn't have any more room, anyway.
