As Inside Scoop reported this week, the decade-old Sunday Funday spot in the Marina, Circa, has officially shuttered. We heard back in March that the owner was looking to change things up at the hopping corner of Chestnut and Fillmore, but now it appears some new owners have stepped in instead.
At the time, perhaps tired of throwing Cowboy Ugly parties and cleaning up mimosa vomit, owner Guri Walia was talking about a new project he was calling Remodel, but that appears to have fallen through. Enter Anderson Pugash, one of the partners behind Audio and Bergerac in SoMa, as well as Palm House on Union, along with his Palm House partner Benson Wang and Jack Herr of Crossroads Entertainment.
They have not yet revealed what's in store for the space, which was also once home to a location of Original Joe's, but Pugash did say, "Architecturally, there’s some fun stuff we can do with the building."
Many Marina girls and guys will, undoubtedly, be sad to see Circa's bottomless mimosa brunch go away. But luckily they can still get tanked on bottomless mimosas at a bunch of other places, like Lightning Tavern, Bin 38, and Stock in Trade.
