An arrest has been made in the fatal stabbing of a man who was found face down and bleeding on an Outer Sunset sidewalk last week.

As you might recall, San Francisco Police Department officers found 34-year-old San Francisco man Andrew Rathe on the sidewalk on 45th Avenue between Moraga and Lawton Streets at 4:10 a.m. Friday.

He was "suffering from numerous stab wounds," SFPD spokesperson Officer Grace Gatpandan says, and though "officers immediately rendered aid...Rathe did not survive his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene."

According to Gatpandan, SFPD's Homicide Unit "followed investigative leads to identify the suspect responsible," as they do. Later that day, they tracked 39-year-old SF man Jackson Van Deusen to the first block of Allison Street, and took him in for questioning.

By 7:10 that night, "Van Deusen was booked at San Francisco County Jail for murder and assault with a deadly weapon," Gatpandan says.

According to Gatpandan, the help members of the public offered during the investigation of the crime was invaluable, and that anyone with further information on Rathe's slaying should SFPD's Anonymous Tip Line at 415-575-4444 or can Text a Tip to TIP411 with SFPD at the beginning of the message
