San Francisco's Crocker-Amazon Playground has become the scene of yet another slaying, after a shooting there Saturday claimed the life of a man in San Francisco's 14th homicide for 2015.

According to San Francisco Police Department spokesperson Officer Albie Esparza, officers were called to the area of Geneva and Moscow Streets, at the western edge of the park at 7:57 p.m. Saturday night.

There they discovered "a male subject suffering from gunshot wounds," Esparza says. The man was taken to San Francisco General Hospital, where he died of his injuries.

The San Francisco Medical Examiner did not have the deceased man's identity available for release as of publication time.

As you might recall, San Francisco's previous two homicides (#12 and #13) went down at the parking lot of the same park where Saturday's slaying occurred. On March 9 at 9:36 a.m., 18-year-old Kenyatta Butler Jr. of San Leandro and 19-year-old Donzel Gaines of SF were shot to death while parked there in a silver Camaro.

No suspects have been named, nor is anyone in custody for that crime, or for the homicide this weekend. As always, Esparza encourages anyone with any information on either crime to call SFPD anonymously at 415-575-4444 or to text-a-tip to TIP411 with SFPD in the subject line.
