Wow. What is with 2015, you guys? There was just a crazy armed robbery at the Westfield Centre Tiffany's location on Wednesday afternoon, in broad daylight.
Three armed suspects stormed the store in a takeover robbery, and as KRON4 and multiple news sources are reporting, they "ordered everyone in the store on the ground and forced an employee to open the jewelry cases. The suspects then fled the scene with an unknown amount of jewelry.
Thankfully no one was harmed.
NBC Bay Area notes that police are examining surveillance video, but identifying these guys will be tough, because they weren't stupid about this. They all came into the store dressed as construction workers, wearing jeans, t-shirts, reflective vests, and face masks, and were thus able to walk out of the store without rousing suspicion.
This crime follows on a first month of the year that's been filled with violent and brazen crime, including 11 homicides, two brazen smash-and-grab robberies including the one with the gold nuggets at the Wells Fargo museum, and a dismembered body in a suitcase.
Let's hope this doesn't foretell eleven more months of this.
