Just like they did last year, a group of anti-tech protesters will host a mock awards ceremony dubbed The Crappies outside the annual TechCrunch-hosted Crunchies, now in its eighth year.

Both the Crunchies and the Crappies will be happening on Thursday, February 5th at Davies Symphony Hall, although the Crappies will technically be taking place on the sidewalk outside.

As hosts The Anti-Eviction Mapping Project say on IndyBay, the protest event will "recognize the worst players of the year in the San Francisco Takeover Venture." And up for nomination so far are "Ed Lee, Airbnb's Brian Chesky, Uber, the Dropbox Dudes, Jack Halprin, Travis Allen, and more!"

If you are not among the 65 percent of San Franciscans who are just fine with the tech industry, you can join in on the Crappy fun via Facebook.

Meanwhile, if you're part of the tech world and planning to attend the Crunchies, you'll be treated to a hosted bar, hors d'oeuvres, musical performances, and a 90-minute ceremony with awards in categories like Best Mobile Application and Sexiest Enterprise Startup.
