This is what the whole thing was for, apparently. You know, the money and the closure that may have surprised at least a few people despite frequent warnings!
We saw an informational preview a while back explaining the operation of the $26.5 million project to replace the previous system of plastic tubes with a 11,538-foot-long steel and concrete median. The "Zipper Truck" shifts 800 separate 1,500 pound pieces of the barrier into the designated lane.
Anyway, this may be the most viral-worthy Golden Gate bridge video since those deer incapacitated commuters this fall.
