Traffic was snarled on the Golden Gate Bridge Friday evening by two footloose and carefree deer who decided to prance their way from the Presidio to Marin by the quickest possible route. The deer were reported to the CHP at 5:24 p.m., as SFGate and others report, and photos and videos of the darling pair were quickly posted to Twitter and Instagram.
Traffic behind the deer slowed in order to give them space, and despite a report that one may have been hit by a vehicle, both appear unharmed in the video documentation, trotting their way briskly north, toward Sausalito and/or the Marin Headlands.
By the time CHP officers made it on the scene, at 6 p.m., the deer were nowhere to be seen, and had clearly already arrived at whatever party or benefit they were late for in the North Bay.
