The practice of catcalling's been really getting hammered lately, from the video of a woman being endlessly harassed in New York, to a dubious defense of the activity from some "men's rights activists." And now there's this, a San Francisco catcaller apparently so invested in his catcalling practice that he allegedly stabbed a man multiple times for trying to get him to stop.
Bay City News (by way of CBS5) reports that at 4:45 Saturday morning, San Francisco Police Department officers were called to the intersection of Larkin and Ellis Streets, in the beautiful Tenderloin.
When they arrived, they discovered a 31-year-old man suffering from multiple life-threatening stab wounds in the neck and back, police say.
According to police, the man had been walking home with his girlfriend when another man began to catcall her. When the victim confronted the catcaller, the catcaller stabbed him "multiple times with a knife," then took off in a car described only as a silver sedan. He remains at large at publication time.
The stabbing victim was transported to San Francisco General Hospital. Police didn't have an update on his condition at publication time.
As always, if you have any information on the stabbing, you're urged to make an anonymous call to the SFPD at 415-575-4444 or to send a tip via text to TIP411 with "SFPD" at the start of the message.
