At Wiz Khalifa's Friday night concert at Shoreline Amphitheatre, a man was shot and killed backstage. Now six people associated with the tour — including Def Jam rapper Young Jeezy — have been arrested on weapons charges, the Chronicle reports.
Orinda resident Eric Johnson was reportedly shot multiple times around 11 p.m., during Khalifa's set, according to CBS San Francisco. The 38-year-old succumbed to his injuries at a hospital on Saturday.
Khalifa's camp canceled the following date of the Under the Influence of Music tour, Saturday, August 23 in Chula Vista, but continued on Sunday, August 24 to play Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine where Mountain View detectives were waiting with search warrants. HipHop DX reports that Jeezy's tour bus was searched during the show and he did not perform.
According to TMZ, police found an assault rifle believed to belong to Jeezy (né Jay Jenkins) and he's in custody at the Orange County Jail with a $1 million bail.
The homicide investigation is ongoing and no one arrested has been charged in connection with Johnson's death.
