San Francisco has hosted a few blockbuster movie crews this summer — including Terminator: Genesis and San Andreas — and now Marvel's Ant-Man will be here next week.
As reported by The Daily SuperHero and the Chronicle, filming notices state the shoot will take place in the Tenderloin and the Haight around Buena Vista Park. Stars Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas will be in town and we expect you to email us if you spot them.
At the Tenderloin location, on Jones Street between Eddy and O'Farrell Streets and Ellis Street between Leavenworth and Hyde Streets, there will be street closures from 6 a.m. on Monday, August 18 to midnight on Tuesday, August 19. Around Buena Vista Park, there will be “soft” closures that only permit Muni and resident vehicles to enter the area.
According to San Francisco Film Commission spokeswoman Lauren Machado, one of the main character's homes is set near Buena Vista Park.
Ant-Man will also shoot in Atlanta, Georgia and has a release date set for July 17, 2015.
