After a 911 call was seemingly victimless and a dead body was brought to San Francisco General Hospital, San Francisco Police Department officers are piecing together the city's third homicide in recent days.

According to SFPD spokesperson Sergeant Danielle Newman, a 911 call requesting help sent officers to Sixth and Harrison Streets at around 5:12 this morning. Upon their arrival, there was no victim to be found.

"A short time later," Newman says, "a victim showed up at SFGH," and was pronounced dead.

The SF Examiner reports that the victim was identified by the San Francisco medical examiner as 18-year-old Daniel Beltran of San Francisco.

"This appears to have been a shooting and homicide investigators are responding," Newman says. She had no information on either the victim or any possible suspects, but said that no arrests had been made at this time.

This is the third homicide SFPD's investigated since Friday, when 30-year-old SF resident Lisa Heng allegedly stabbed 40-year-old Sausalito resident Matt Sheahan to death in a hotel at Geary and Polk.

Then, at 1:30 Saturday morning, 28-year-old San Franciscan Benjamin Martinez was shot multiple times near 16th and Valencia Streets. He was taken to SF General, but died from his injuries.
