Last week, the Oklahoma City Thunder, the team that is the odds on favorite to emerge from the West, broke the hearts of everyone at Oracle Arena. Down by 14 points in the 4th quarter, the Thunder clawed back into the game, and with 2.3 seconds left, Oklahoma’s Russell Westbrook drained a 3-pointer to win the game and sucked the roar out of Roaracle. Self-congratulatory chest bumping and thumping was had on the OKC side.
2.3 seconds, though.
You know what can happen in 2.3 seconds? Klay Thompson can inbound the ball in 2.3 seconds. Andre Iguodala can get the ball in 2.3 seconds.

...and win the game in 2.3 seconds. In 2.3 seconds, Warriors fans saw the future—May 2014, NBA Western Conference Finals, Golden State Warriors v. Oklahoma City Thunder.

That win over the Thunder was a statement: The Warriors don’t lose at home. They’re 7-1 at home so far this season. If they finish the season with a 40-1 home record, we’d say, “Yeah, sounds about right.” At this point, it’s almost undisputed that the Roaracle provides the greatest home-court advantage in the Association. It’s gotta be the tacos on International Blvd, no question.
The Dubs will need that advantage tonight. The Memphis Grizzlies come to town, looking to close out a 4-game road sweep and win their 11th consecutive game against the Warriors. Look, a lot of teams have a lot of win streaks and whatnot against the Warriors. Over the past few years, accumulating those streaks were, well, pretty easy to do. But this is the year the Dubs settle old scores and square the books.
But then again
The Grizzlies did spank the Warriors earlier this month and are verycapable of doing it again. Also, Steph Curry, aka our EVERYTHING, is out tonight with a concussion. Also, that annoying single loss at home this season? It was handed to us by the Trail Blazers. They come back to town on Saturday.

So this is fun: Seth Curry is Steph's younger brother. Mychel Thompson is Klay’s older brother. Steph and Klay are teammates on the Warriors and as of yesterday, Seth and Mychel are also teammates on the Warriors—the Santa Cruz Warriors. The Santa Cruz Warriors are the Golden State Warriors’ D-League team, the “minor league” team for the Dubs. One can never have too many sets of Splash Brothers, is what I always say, and now the Dubs have two!
