This morning at the Levi's Stadium construction site in Santa Clara a delivery truck driver was crushed when a bundle of metal rebar that he was unloading fell on him. He died at a hospital sometime after the 6:30 a.m. incident Monday morning. It was the second death at the construction site in the past four months.

The victim's name has not been released, but he has been identified as an employee of Tampa-based steel manufacturer Gerdau, working out of Napa Reinforcing Steel. The contractor for the stadium project has halted construction for the day, issuing a statement saying: "Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family during this very difficult time."

In June, a construction worker in his sixties was inadvertently crushed by an counterweight while working in an elevator shaft.
