The man who held up businesses and captivated scores of onlookers around the Embarcadero Center twice in the past week has been identified as 25-year-old William Quezali of Santa Rosa. Quezali is currently facing multiple misdemeanor and felony charges related to Monday's 9-hour standoff on a ledge above Embarcadero Four, but SFPD and people who work in the area have apparently been forced to witness his naked antics in the past.

According to SFPD's Central Station captain Garret Tom, Quezali was spotted doing some naked shadowboxing near the Ferry Building earlier this month on September 7th. When cops showed up to enforce the city's nudity ban, Quezali ran and jumped into the Bay where he tried to evade the rescuers who went after him.

In July, Quezali was also spotted punching car windows during a protest in front of the Federal Reserve Bank at 101 Market Street, which still gets some fringy Occupy SF campers on occasion. In that incident, Captain Tom says it took four officers to subdue Quezali.

After last Friday's incident, during which Quezali stood for hours naked on a "Do Not Enter" sign on Drumm Street, Quezali was taken to San Francisco General and held for a mandatory 72-hours for evaluation. He was released with no charges, but according to that timeline he must have immediately returned to Embarcadero Center upon his release. For Monday's antics, he's facing four counts of assault with a deadly weapon, two counts of vandalism, trespassing, delaying a peace officer, brandishing a knife and disturbing the peace.
