A soaring baseball has hypnotic properties. Just ask the ball girl at last night's game at AT&T Park, who temporarily forgot that a pop-up is still in play in foul territory. It happened when Joaquin Arias went for an out in the ninth inning. While the ball was in the the air, the hapless helper tried to catch the ball. Oops.

Fortunately, Arias was able to make the catch even with the interference. Unfortunately, the Giants still lost to the Red Sox, 7-0.
