Your ephemeral puppy shots and pre-run shoe photos might be casual fun to you, but to authorities on the peninsula they can be very serious business. A 13-year-old Catholic school student at Our Lady of Angels in Burlingame was arrested Monday for making threats against his school and a female classmate.

The girl saw the offending photos — which included threats against her and another male student as well as references to bombing the school — and brought them to the local authorities. Sorting through the hashtags and usernames, Burlingame police discovered the suspect was, in fact, the same boy named in the threats. (No one ever claimed teenage behavior made any sense.) At that point, they had a serious sit-down with the boy and his mother:

Officers interviewed the suspect with his mother and the suspect said he had no intention of harming anyone or exploding a bomb and made the threats to attract attention, police said.

As of this morning, Our Lady of Angels school was sending out notices to reassure parents that there is, in fact, no real danger on campus.

No word yet what, if any, kind of filter he used.
