Well, this is unusual. A woman was struck by a BART train at the 24th and Mission station in San Francisco on Monday night. But, unlike most cases, she managed to survive being run over by a train.
"It's not clear if she jumped or fell. A train that sped into the station missed her," reports ABC 7. "Firefighters say she was not hit because she was on a platform beneath the tracks."
However, according to Mercury News, the woman jumped in front of the train. "The woman, who is in her 50s, jumped in front of the oncoming train about 9:50 p.m., as the train was entering the station...The oncoming train went right over the woman as it passed through the station."
The woman, who suffered minor injuries, was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation.
