Knife Crime 2013: Cabbie Robbed By Sixth Street Fare

A taxi passenger was determined to ruin one local cabbie's night, apparently. The driver was robbed after picking up a passenger and bringing him to the notorious knife crime corridor along Sixth Street, where the backseat bandit held a knife to the cabbie's neck and ordered him to kill the engine and turn off his cellphone.

Rather than paying the fare on the meter, the blade-wielding jerk made off with the 38-year-old driver's cash on foot around 8:45 p.m. Wednesday night. No arrests had been made as of Thursday morning, but we're pretty sure the beat cops at the new SFPD Sixth Street Substation might be able to find a few leads among the local meth dealers.
