It’s the last Monday of the month, which means the little stage in the music room at Hemlock Tavern is about to get a little sentimental. Tonight is Porchlight Open Door, an open mic event where non-glossophobics sign-up to tell a story based on a theme for five minutes, get a free drink just for being there, and potentially win $50 real dollars for telling the best story. If you want to add your name to the roster of local talent at the Hemlock, show up at 7:00 p.m. with $5 and sign up. Or, just go and listen to other peoples’ heart-wrenching tales, relax, and judge them.
Tonight’s host is SFGate culture writer and SFist pal Beth Spotswood, and the theme is “Getting over it and moving on.” Hmmm kind of rhymes with singles night.
