Not to get all up in your Frank Ocean news today, but the noted "Sierra Leone" crooner was stopped twice for doing over 90 mph on remote highways in the Eastern Sierra Nevada on December 30th and 31st.
When Mono County Sheriff's deputies stopped Ocean in his black BMW the first time, he was heading northbound towards Reno on U.S. 395 which runs parallel to the Nevada border just east of Yosemite National Park. Ocean received a citation for speeding in the first incident, CBS reports, but was stopped the next day on New Year's Eve apparently making the return trip southbound on the same highway.
In the New Year's Eve traffic stop, a deputy from the same sheriff's department noticed a strong odor of marijuana wafting out of the vehicle and found a small bag of weed in the car. Ocean, a 25-year-old resident of Beverly Hills, received a citation for marijuana possession, having tinted front windows and for driving on a suspended license. A CHP officer, a fan of Channel Orange perhaps, also gave Ocean a verbal warning about his speeding habit. The singer's license was confiscated and his pal riding shotgun reportedly had to drive the rest of the way back to LA.
No word yet on why Frank Ocean and his buddy were making a last minute run to Reno before the New Year, but we can probably come up with a few guesses.
